It costs over £19,000 everyday to keep the Hospice’s services running, and the care the staff and volunteers provide to patients at end of life and their families truly is priceless.

Thanks to Strathcarron Hospice, I was able to make amazing memories I didn’t think I ever would with my dad John. We had a wedding blessing ceremony and my dad’s final wish was to give me away. We shared his birthday and other happy family memories with him in the hospice which became like our home- and the nurses like family.

I want to raise awareness of the amazing work the Hospice does for families as I know there will be a family in my position and I want to showcase all of the unending love and care that is provided. It truly is a heavenly place to be in the most difficult time of your life.

My dad was always with me in chasing my dreams and I just know how proud this would make him. A marathon has always felt out of my reach but as he always taught me, it’s better to run towards the scary thing than from it. Lori Robertson
