This year we are fundraising for Strathcarron Hospice in memory of Anna Walker. Strathcarron and their amazing team looked after Anna with the utmost respect and dignity while also providing support for Anna's family and friends.
Anna was my eldest son Dylans girlfriend and future. Dylan and Anna spent months travelling in 2023 exploring Bali, Thailand and other exotic countries together making amazing memories and plans for where their next adventures would take them. However, in January this year, at only 25 years old, Anna was given the devastating news that she had a rare neuroendocrine cancer which spread aggressively and sadly Anna was taken from us on the 9th March.
In September 2023 Anna and her dad completed the Edinburgh 7 Hills challenge which gave me the idea for me and my team at Plumbstore - Darren, Marc, Ross and myself to take on this challenge in memory of Anna to raise funds for the amazing Strathcarron Hospice team.
The challenge is to walk 30kms up, down and in between 7 hills in Edinburgh consisting of Calton Hill, Edinburgh Castle Rock, Arthurs Seat, Blackford Hill, Braid Hills, Craiglockhart Hill and Corstorphine Hill.
We are undertaking this challenge on Saturday 11th October so hopefully the weather will be kind to us and we are hoping that you will be kind as well and give generously to achieve our £2000 target. As per previous years Plumbstore will donate a further £1000 if we meet our target.
We would also like to make this an open invitation to you to come and join us on the day, be it doing the whole walk with us or even just taking in some of the hills all are welcome, all I ask is that you share the link and ask your friends or family to donate and help us achieve or exceed our goal.
