Remembering Darryl Donate We’re fundraising by doing a kilt walk in Glasgow 2026 for Strathcarron Hospice because the care and compassion they give during the hardest moments in life is truly incredible. They support not only those who are ill, but also the families going through such a heartbreaking time. Darryl’s time in Strathcarron was short but the difference those in Strathcarron made to the last moments was incredible. Darryl went into hospital on the 17th of February for a scan to do with his kidneys, during this we found out there was a mass on his bladder and liver, from then his health deteriorated drastically and unfortunately our Darryl never made it back out of the hospital, only until he made it to his final resting place which was beautiful Strathcarron in Denny. But Darryl’s cancer is not something that should ever define his life or his last moments, for those fortunate to know Darryl all know he was the most funny (and grumpy.. at times) and caring man there was. Motorsports, F1, trucks and most importantly his family and friends were his life. He worked at knockhill for over 2 decades and he truly loved it, every race weekend, track days and nights, the legends, painting the track, security.. really there wasn’t a corner of the place he didn’t work on, he really would do anything for anyone. Funnily enough this is where he met the love of his life and fiancé Justyna in 2016. From that time it was it for them, they really fell in love and he spent all his time with her over in Alloa where he would not long move in and stay with Justyna and her daughter Agata. Darryl had 6 kids , Brooklyn, Darryl, Brittany, Callum, Jack, Paige and a stepdaughter Agata. From all of his children Darryl had an exciting 9 grandchildren and 1 on the way. He also had a furry best friend and sidekick called Beau, who loved to snooze with him and share every meal which Darryl didn’t hesitate to always give Beau just a little bit. Darryl loved music and having a good time, usually found with a can of his favourite fosters in hand, in the summer he always was found at the barbecue again with a can of fosters within at least arms reach. He had the most crazy dance moves and was really the life of the party at any given time. As much as Darryl loved to work at his beloved knockhill, he also loved to relax. Sunbathing in the sun in the garden was typical for him but him and Justyna also loved to go on a Cruise and visited numerous countries. Darryl visited lots of countries to marshal like the time he done marshalling in Abu Dhabi 2010 for the F1. With this fundraiser, we hope to give something back so they can continue helping other families when they need it most.
