Evelyn & Nancy's story Evelyn had a stroke which has left her with communication and mobility difficulties. As a result, she has become socially isolated and experienced feelings of loneliness. Having our Strathcarron Compassionate Neighbour befriender Nancy visit has greatly improved her quality of life. Nancy pops in once a week for an hour or so. She shares her news and checks in with Evelyn on how she is. The friends soon discovered that they share a love of Swarovski ornaments! Evelyn used to teach piano but since her stroke she can no longer play. She still loves listening to music, so when there is a musical event on locally at Denny Snowdrop Cafe, Nancy accompanies Evelyn along to enjoy these. Evelyn enjoys getting out of the house but also enjoys having a friend pop in every week, for that reason she says that Compassionate Neighbours is a very valuable service.
