This may be the first time you have been to the In-Patient Unit or indeed, any part of Strathcarron Hospice and the feelings of not knowing what to expect might create lots of questions for you.

The decision to come in to the In-Patient Unit/ Ward might have been a difficult one for you, but you will have made it because you believe that you and your family would benefit from our additional care and support and that it could help you live with your illness.

We want to help you feel at ease with your decision as quickly as is possible and help you to become familiar with the daily happenings in the ward. We also want to help you feel that you can ask questions you have at any time.  Please don’t hesitate in contacting us for further information – we will all be happy to help.

You may be experiencing difficult symptoms such as extreme pain, breathlessness, nausea or anxiety which are difficult to cope with, whether you are at home or in hospital and that means you and your family need increasing levels of support.

Our expert team will work with you to find the best combination of medicines or different treatments to ease these symptoms and hopefully make them more manageable.

You can call our Support Line: 01324 827383 to discuss your own illness, or of someone you care about and even make an appointment to visit the Hospice. We can help to answer all your questions or queries. This is a direct line to our Hospice teams with no need for a GP referral.

You can listen to our Podcast to hear from our teams, patients and their families: Strathcarron Stories Podcast
