Celebrating our Volunteers It’s Volunteers’ Week and Strathcarron Hospice is taking time to celebrate their amazing volunteersThe positive impact volunteers make is incredible and your local Hospice would like to encourage others to consider taking up volunteering themselves. Andrew Craig, 24 years old from Larbert, volunteers his time in Strathcarron’s charity shops, as well as in the communications team. Like Andrew, enthusiastic volunteers donate their time to the work of the Hospice in so many incredible ways – from fundraising, volunteering across their local charity shops, to managing the Hospice reception, to offering comfort and support to patients and their families. Andrew says, “my most favourite thing is working on the till in the charity shop in Stenhousemuir and meeting, chatting and helping the customers. It’s so nice to be a part of the community. It’s great to see the people coming in all the time and supporting our local Hospice, as well as getting nice things for themselves. I say it is a win win”.There are many ways to help and whether you are able to volunteer for a few hours once a week, once a month or even once a year, your time makes a big difference. Each role requires different skills, strengths and time there will be a role either within our out with the Hospice that is right for you.
