Donation in memory of Linda funds two new family overnight rooms Family and friends of Linda Myles have made a donation that will contribute to the ongoing success of the Hospice and the services that we provide through the creation of two new family overnight rooms. Linda sadly died in Strathcarron Hospice in 2023 after spending a month in our care. Her family and friends have organised and taken part in a variety of fundraising challenges and events in tribute to her and as a thank you to the Hospice for the care she received. The final event in the series was a ‘Summer Ceilidh in Support of Strathcarron Hospice’ with the main fundraising goal to be able to fund the creation of the two new family overnight rooms. Colin with sons Andrew and Ross Summer Ceilidh for Strathcarron Linda’s husband Colin, said: “Linda spent a month in the Hospice in December 2022/ January 2023 and we are forever grateful to the Strathcarron Team for the care and support we all received. “The rooms, ‘Rose’ and ‘Tulip’, are named in memory of our time in Amsterdam and a rather special Rose Garden that embraced living life to the full through family, friends and fun!” Claire Kennedy, Strathcarron Corporate Fundraiser, said: “We give our heartfelt thanks to the Family & Friends of Linda for their fundraising efforts in her memory. This money has allowed us to renovate and transform two existing rooms from a laundry and changing room into two lovely family overnight rooms. “These rooms will be a huge support and comfort for family members allowing them to stay at the Hospice close to their loved ones in the end stages of their life. What a wonderful lasting legacy to Linda's memory.” Colin and everyone at Strathcarron would like to thank the following businesses who supported the ceilidh: • John Mitchell Haulage and Warehousing • U-Store Falkirk • The Flower Bar by Anne Kennedy • Jamie Dick Drainage Ltd.
