Four generations. One hospice. A lifetime of care, compassion, and connection woven together.

For Jean Gow and her family, the hospice isn’t just a place. It’s part of who they are.

Jean was there at the very beginning, working for over 2 decades as the hospice’s first physiotherapist, supporting patients and families when it mattered most. Her mum, Mary McAlpine volunteered for over 22 years in the Williamson Street, Falkirk hospice shop, offering time, kindness, and a warm welcome to everyone who walked through the door.

Jean’s daughter, Mhairi remembers being a little girl in that very same shop, proudly helping her gran, flattening bags, sorting donations.

Now, decades later, their Strathcarron story continues. Mhairi’s 7 year old daughter Emily enjoys weaving with our giant Loom as part of our 45th anniversary celebration adding their story and threads to a shared piece of history. Afterward, they spent time in the Papermill Cafge café, enjoying lunch, reminiscing, and reconnecting with familiar faces and old colleagues who have become lifelong friends.

This is what Strathcarron is built on. People, families, and generations of care, woven together over time.

Now it’s your turn.
