We were delighted to assist Andrene with goal setting when she told us she was sad she may not see her daughter get married next year.

Andrene’s daughter Karen and her partner Colin who are due to be wed in May, held a hand fasting ceremony within the Hospice on Saturday with her mum in attendance.

Andrene and her husband Charlie made the day extra special by renewing their vows during the ceremony.

Our Chaplain Laura blessed the rings and Karen chose yellow as the colour theme for the ceremony as a mark of gratitude to Strathcarron.

Karen says: “My mum was upset about not being able to be there next year to see us get married so knowing that she was part of that ceremony meant so much to me. I will never forget it.

“The staff were amazing at helping us achieve this for mum, we couldn’t have done it without them.

“It really was special.”
