Valentine’s Day …a day of love…

A perfect date to choose for a Strathcarron ‘Pay for a Day’ for devoted friends Sue, Jud, Lesley, Alison and Clare.

Today, Friday 14th February 2025, all our services in the Hospice and across the local community, will be funded by this special group friends who held a red carpet ball in November 2024 raising the amazing total of £25,523.

They dedicate their day to all those they love who have been in the care of our Hospice teams before they died.

Each of the group, who are all from the Stenhousemuir, Larbert and Carron areas, have had Strathcarron touch their lives.

The group found it particularly hard when Jud’s husband Nicky was diagnosed with cancer and tragically passed away.

Clare, Jud’s friend and sister-in-law, said on behalf of the group:

"When Nicky was ill, we were on our weekly walk together and wanted to do something positive so decided to hold a fundraising event for the Hospice.

Nicky had a Strathcarron clinical nurse specialist visiting and the family felt as if she took the weight off their shoulders. She was very supportive.

We all know someone who has been supported by Strathcarron – it means so much to people in the area - so we were delighted to be able to help in some way. The care is just unbelievable.

Our ball was very well supported by the local community. A huge thank you goes to all the businesses who donated to our event, especially Arnold Clark and Ian Gallagher Jewellers for their very generous donations."

We were delighted to welcome the girls to the Hospice to celebrate their efforts.

Thank you so much for your tremendous efforts in raising this amount. We would also like to pass on our extended thanks to everyone who helped make this incredible gift possible.
