Stirling RSPB brings joy to patients by in-kind donation filling bird feeders A Stirling Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) group has quietly been bringing joy for over a decade to patients at Strathcarron Hospice through in-kind donations. The group, which has been running for over 20 years, meets in monthly Bannockburn Community Centre, where they fill bird feeders between autumn and spring to be placed in the hospice grounds outside patients’ windows, when the birds can't get their food from the natural environment. The bird food made up of seeds, peanuts and suet balls is funded through the group’s monthly raffles and a collection bucket at each meeting. The group has also fundraised for the Hospice in the past, with one of the members cycling from John O Groats to Tullibody to raise funds for a shed to store bird feed in at the Hospice. There are many ways people in our community can contribute to support the lives of patients at Strathcarron Hospice. This shows how in-kind donations, like this long time gesture by the RSPB group, helps to enrich the lives of patients and their loved ones during their time here. We are grateful to be in a beautiful location with stunning grounds and our visiting birds can bring joy to those we support. Find out more How can I support my local hospice?
