The hospice team were honoured to host the first Sobell Education Oxford Scottish Masterclass in Palliative Care last week.

The event was hosted by Dr Mary Miller - Consultant in Palliative Medicine at Oxford Centre for Education and Research in Palliative Care and Dr Sally Boa - Head of Palliative Care Education, Research and Practice Development at Strathcarron Hospice.

Experienced doctors and nurses who practise in palliative care and end of life care learned more about nausea and vomiting, non-pharmalogical management of breathlessness, oral health, impact of vitamin deficiencies and problematic opioid use.

There was also a lecture on making future care planning accessible and time for reflection and discussion.
