Our lymphoedema team attended the British Lymphoedema Society (BLS) Conference in Chester this week, enjoying the opportunity to expand their learning and knowledge on this specialist area of healthcare.

The team who are based at the hospice, is part of the Forth Valley Lymphoedema Service and provides specialist treatment for people with the condition from any cause.

Lymphoedema occurs when the lymphatic drainage system fails. 

Our lymphoedema and lipoedema specialist Yolande is proud to be the Co-Chair of the BLS, a registered charity which aims to preserve and protect good health of people living with lymphoedema and chronic oedema, raise awareness of the conditions and promote strategy and best practice for the condition.

Yolande said: “The BLS Conference provides a valuable opportunity to connect and network with lymphoedema colleagues from across the UK, sharing knowledge and developments within our field.

“We're fortunate to be supported by educational grants from the BLS, which make our attendance possible. Each time we return, we bring back fresh ideas and inspiration to implement in our own clinics — it’s an amazing experience.”
