Strathcarron receives £2000 donation from Sophie North Charitable Trust Strathcarron Hospice is privileged to receive a donation recently for £2000 towards our work from the Sophie North Charitable Trust. The Trust was set up to honour the memory of Sophie North, one of the infant children killed at Dunblane Primary School on 13 March 1996. Its aims are to make payments to other charitable causes related to children’s diseases, children’s hospices, breast cancer, care of the terminally ill and conflict anger and resolution. We are grateful to Mick, Sophie’s dad, who has chosen to support Strathcarron as a beneficiary on a number of occasions as friend Olwen was supported by the Hospice in her final stage of life 20 years ago. Mick is pictured with Sara, a Compassionate Community Builder for Strathcarron Hospice Mick said: “Olwen had wonderful support from Strathcarron Hospice, and Sophie's Trust was proud to make its first ever donation to them. “With this year's Birthday Donation we remembered Olwen and Sophie, who would have celebrated her 35th birthday on 2 October, by giving another cheque to Strathcarron Hospice. We are delighted to continue our support with a fifth donation to them. “The photo is of Olwen and Sophie from Christmas 1993. We miss them both.” To find out more about the Sophie North Charitable Trust visit their Facebook Manage Cookie Preferences
