Strathcarron welcomes new CEO

We give a warm welcome to Mags McCarthy who joins the Hospice as our new CEO.

Mags trained as a psychiatric nurse and has over 20 years' senior management experience in the third sector.

She is passionate about person centred care for all, that ensures people are heard and are in control of their own journey.

This has been the driver for Mags throughout her career when developing services to meet the needs within the community.

Mags says: “Strathcarron is a very special place. I am inspired by the Hospice’s role in end of life care and the commitment, professionalism and people first approach of those who work and volunteer here.

“Over the coming months I look forward to meeting and listening to staff, partners and stakeholders to work together on driving forward the best possible level of care for the communities we serve.

“As Scotland’s largest independent Hospice, we shall continue to strive to be exceptional in supporting people in the final stages of their lives to live with their illness and make the most of the time they have, by understanding what is important to them helping them achieve their goals.”
